Your photos go to your storage — and nowhere else.
There is no SimplyBackup server and no account. Your photos and videos travel directly from your phone to the destination you configured — your own drive, your own server, your own cloud account. Simply AppHub never receives, stores or can access them.

The Android app uses Google's consent framework and can use your Android advertising ID; the iPhone app requests only non-personalised ads and never asks to track you across apps at all. A single merged policy would have to describe both and would end up accurate about neither.

What is true of both
- There is no account, no sign-in and no SimplyBackup server. Your photos are never uploaded to us — there is nowhere for them to arrive.
- Backups go directly from the phone to the destination you chose: a USB drive or local folder, a NAS over SMB, an SFTP or WebDAV server, or your own Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive account.
- Credentials for those destinations — server passwords, cloud sign-in tokens — are stored only on the device, in the iOS Keychain or Android's Keystore-encrypted storage, and are sent only to the server or provider they belong to.
- No analytics SDK beyond Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports) and Google AdMob (ads on the free tiers). Nothing is sold to anyone.
- Deleting the app deletes everything the app stored on the phone. The backups you made remain wherever you sent them — in your own storage, under your control.
